Earth3D allows you to view the whole earth setting that features external data like earthquake positions or cloud data. Zooming in is also possible up to counties, cities and houses, but for now this zooming in feature is limited to the city of Osnabruck, Germany. This program allows you to search, browse and organize local information that can also viewd in 3D just like in the real world.
Earth3D allows you to use more realistic and more useful maps that help you find data more effectively. This program is available as a QT based C++ program that runs on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
